Old Macdonald had a farm E,I,E,I,O!
- How many animals can you remember from Old Macdonald’s farm? – sing the song and remember their animal noises. Can you draw any of the animals?
- Look in your fridge and cupboard – can you find any of these foods and drinks which have been produced on farms; potatoes / carrots / eggs / milk / cheese?
- Printing with potatoes - ask an adult to help you using a sharp knife to cut shapes in the potato and then press into the paint to print – what pictures can you make?
- Planting carrot tops – chop the top off the carrot and place into a saucer of water – after just a couple of days you will start to see it grow and then you can move it into a tub of soil to grow your own.
- On Cbeebies website play a game with Topsy and Tim, helping them to work on the farm https://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/games/topsy-and-tim-at-the-farm?collection=fun-activities-to-do-with-older-kids

It’s raining, its pouring, the old man is snoring, he went to bed and bumped his head and couldn’t get up in the morning.
- Catch the rain in cups, pots and pans. Listen to the sounds the drips and drops make. Which container will fill up fastest? Why? Talk about empty and full with your child.
- Look at the clothes in your wardrobe. Which are best for sunny days or rainy days?
- A challenge for your whole family. How many people can you squeeze under 1 umbrella?
- Have a coat race. Encourage your child to put their own arms into sleeves and do up their zip. Who can put on their coat first?
- Take a look at https://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/shows/hey-duggee to see how he got a rain dance badge, maybe you can make your own badge.

- Bake some cupcakes . Here is a simple recipe:
- You will need
110g/4oz butter margarine
110g/4oz sugar or caster sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract (if you have some!)
110g/4oz self-raising flour

1,2,3,4, 5, once I caught a fish alive 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 then I let it go again.
Why did you let it go? Because it bit my finger so.

- Listen to the story of ‘Bravest Fish’ - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4F46Ze7umc a shiny fish who is very brave. At times in this story Stanley is sad and lonely, this could be a way to talk to your children about if they are missing their friends and reassuring them that this won’t last forever and they will get to play with friends again.
- Let’s work on counting – there are so many things to count at home – toys, stairs, tins and people. How far can you count? Can you find numbers around your house?
Incy wincy spider
- Make a ball of playdough and use little sticks or pipe cleaners with button eyes to make your own spider. Count the legs carefully.
- In your garden lift up a stone or log and see if you can find any spiders. If you do find some remember to hold it gently and don’t squash it.Watch how it moves.
- Watch this clip where a spider makes it’s web https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNtSAQHNONo –it is amazing! Now try to make your own using a ball of wool or string – you might need to ask your family to help you by holding some of the string.
- Watch this spider story https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btctO8asZ3E to see how a spider becomes a family pet.
