Special Educational Needs and Inclusion
Westminster Nursery School is an inclusive school that welcomes children from all backgrounds and abilities.
We take pride in our provision for children with special educational needs and we value all our pupils equally. Partnership with parents plays a key role in enabling our children to achieve their full potential. We recognise that parents hold key information and have knowledge and experience to contribute to the shared view of a child’s needs and the best way of supporting them. All parents will be treated as partners and supported to play an active and valued role in their children’s education.
Concerns about an individual child’s progress should be addressed at first to their group teacher since he or she is the person who knows the child best. Our special educational need co-coordinator (SENCo), Mrs Clark, or the Head Mrs Connor, are available to talk to you if you feel your child has additional needs. We will work with you, the group teacher and your child to ensure their needs are meet. Sometimes we will approach outside agencies for further support.
