Here are some activity ideas which you can enjoy;

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, Humpty Dumpty had a great fall, all the king’s horses and all the king’s men couldn’t put humpty together again!

  • Make an egg holder, it could be a box or basket made from an old cardboard box or your lego or maybe stickle bricks. What do you have at your house to build with? Remember you can use your recycling boxes or tubs too!
  • Hard boil an egg and turn it into Humpty Dumpty – you need to draw on a face, hair and can you build a wall for him? Then you can eat him for lunch!
  • Humpty is an oval shape, but they are tricky to find -can you go on a shape hunt round your house? How many squares, circles and triangles can you find?
  • The king’s men couldn’t fix Humpty but I wonder what you could do if you were king for a day – make yourself a crown and pick a chair to be your throne!

  • Use a tube to make yourself a telescope and take a look at the twinkling stars too. How many can you see?
  • Pretend to be an astronaut – space walking with huge steps, a rocket, a space helmet and boots – have a look at the story ‘Whatever Next’ to see how baby bear did it. You can watch the story online.
  • Enjoy the story ‘Bringing down the moon’ where mole really wants to catch it! https://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/radio/story-time-bringing-down-the-moon

Red and yellow and pink and green, orange and purple and blue, I can sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow too!

  • Go on a scavenger hunt around your home, you must find something for each colour in the rainbow song. When you have found them; look at your collection of items, which is biggest, smallest, longest , shortest item?
  • Have you made a rainbow for your window yet? You could draw one, paint one or maybe make a sticky, gluey rainbow with different coloured papers.
  • Find out what everyone in your family likes – ask ‘what is your favourite colour?’ Remember we don’t all have to like the same things.
  • Be a scientist with a rainbow experiment! Using skittles sweets make a circle around the edge of a plate then gently pour a little water and see what happens.
